Privacy Policy
RunGogh is a route planner for runners, operated by [YOUR FULL NAME] ([ע.מ. / ח.פ.]), based in Israel ("we", "us").
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to describe what the app actually does rather than reserve every right we could.
Last updated: 3 August 2026.
The short version
You can plan routes, see elevation and distance, and use the app without an account.
Your location is used to centre the map on your device. It is never sent to us or stored.
If you create an account, we store your email and the routes you save.
We never see your payment details. Apple and Google handle purchases.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
Account information. If you sign in with Apple, Google or an email link, we receive an email address and an account identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple’s relay address.
Routes you save. When you save a route, we store its waypoints and geometry, its name, its distance and estimated duration, and a link to a static map image of it. Routes you plan but never save are stored only on your device.
Subscription status. If you subscribe, we store whether your subscription is active and when the current period ends. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail.
Basic usage measurement. We use Vercel Analytics on our website, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of individual visitors.
What we do not collect
Your device location. The app asks for location permission so it can centre the map where you are and add a starting point. That coordinate is used on your device and is not transmitted to us or saved to our servers. Declining the permission only means you have to search for your starting point instead.
We do not track your runs, record activity in the background, or access your health data. RunGogh plans routes; it does not follow you along them.
We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We process your account information and saved routes because they are necessary to provide the service you asked for — without them the app cannot keep your routes or let you sign in on another device.
We process subscription status to give you what you paid for and to comply with tax and accounting obligations.
Where consent is the basis — for example, location permission — you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers, and only for the purposes below. They are bound by their own agreements with us and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Supabase — stores your account and saved routes.
Mapbox — provides maps, routing, search and elevation data. When you plan a route, the coordinates you tap are sent to Mapbox so it can return the roads between them.
RevenueCat — records whether your subscription is active.
Apple and Google — process purchases and, if you use them, sign-in.
Vercel — hosts our website and provides cookieless analytics.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Where it is held
Our providers store data on servers outside Israel, including in the European Union and the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside Israel, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual protections and their own compliance frameworks.
How long we keep it
Saved routes and account information are kept until you delete them or ask us to close your account. Once you ask, we delete your account and its routes within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records — for example, invoices, which Israeli tax law requires us to keep for seven years.
A route you plan but never save is held only on your device, and is discarded after seven days or when you clear it.
Your rights
Under Israeli privacy law, and under the GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area, you may ask us to:
give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
correct anything that is wrong;
delete your account and its data;
restrict or object to certain processing.
Write to privacy@rungogh.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we are not handing your data to someone else.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (הרשות להגנת הפרטיות), or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EEA.
Children
RunGogh is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to saved routes is restricted at the database level so that one account cannot read another’s. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your personal data, as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
